Midgar Coffee is an independent speciality coffee house in the heart of Bury St Edmunds, built around a simple idea: serve great coffee, good food and create a place people genuinely enjoy spending time in.

Whether you're grabbing your first coffee of the day, catching up with friends or taking a quiet moment for yourself, Midgar is designed to feel relaxed, welcoming and easy to settle into.

Pop in for a quick takeaway or stay a while in one of our cosy corners. However long you’re here, you’ll always find great coffee, good food and a warm welcome waiting.

Midgar Coffee was founded by Stuart and Georja with a simple goal: to create the kind of coffee house they would want to visit themselves. A place built around quality coffee, good food and a relaxed atmosphere where everyone feels welcome.

Since opening, Midgar has grown into a much-loved spot in the heart of Bury St Edmunds. We focus on sourcing great ingredients, working with local suppliers and making everything as good as it can be, from the coffee in your cup to the food on your plate.

At its heart, Midgar is about more than just coffee. It’s about community, conversation and creating a space where people can pause for a moment in the middle of a busy day.

And of course, no visit is complete without meeting Otto, our miniature dachshund and unofficial head of customer relations.

Great coffee sits at the heart of Midgar. Our house coffee is Ethiopian Mocha Djimmah from Drury Tea & Coffee, known for its bright citrus notes and delicate floral character.

Alongside our coffee, we work with brilliant local suppliers including The Friendly Loaf, Holly Bakes and Edis of Ely to bring together food that’s just as good as the drinks we serve.

From hot sourdough melts and focaccia doorsteps to bagels and show-stopping cakes, everything on the counter has been chosen because it’s something we genuinely love serving.

Midgar is designed to be a place you can settle into. With a mix of cosy corners, relaxed seating and our courtyard when the weather plays nice, there’s always a comfortable spot to enjoy your coffee.

We’re proudly dog friendly, and if you’re lucky you might even meet Otto, our miniature dachshund.
